About this product
This Irwin auger drill bit is designed for general wood boring across a range of timber types, suited to cabinet installation, stud work, dowelling and medium-sized fastener holes. It measures 8mm in diameter with an overall length of 191mm and a working length of 114mm.
A single spur cutting edge scribes the circumference of the hole for a smoother finish, while the solid centre adds rigidity to keep the bit straight while boring. The self-feeding screw point speeds up boring in soft and hard woods, and the hexagon shank prevents slipping in the drill chuck or bit extension. The body is fully hardened from tip to shank for durability.
