About this product
This Irwin auger drill bit measures 16mm in diameter and 191mm overall length, with a 126mm working length. It's suited to general wood boring, including larger structural fixings, substantial cable runs and heavy-duty joinery work where a bigger diameter hole is needed.
The single spur cutting edge scribes the circumference of the hole for a smooth, clean finish, while the solid centre adds rigidity to help keep the bit straight during boring. A self-feeding screw point speeds up drilling in both soft and hard woods, and the hexagon shank resists slipping in a drill chuck or bit extension.
The body is fully hardened from tip to shank, giving added durability for demanding, heavy-duty drilling tasks.
