About this product
This Irwin auger drill bit is a long series wood-boring bit with a 28mm diameter and 400mm overall length, suited to deep boring in general woodworking, structural timber and services routing through thick beams. The single spur cutting edge scribes the circumference of the hole for a smoother finish, while the solid centre adds rigidity to help keep the bit straight when drilling deep holes.
The hexagon shank resists slipping in a drill chuck or bit extension, and the self-feeding screw point speeds up boring in both soft and hard woods while helping maintain tracking accuracy. The body is fully hardened from tip to shank for added durability.
Working length is given as either 323mm or 335mm depending on source, supplied as a single bit.
