About this product
This Irwin long series auger bit measures 35mm in diameter with an overall length of 400mm, designed for deep boring into wood where extended reach and a large hole diameter are needed, such as structural timber work and running services through thick beams.
A single spur cutting edge scores the circumference of the hole for a smoother finish, while the solid centre adds rigidity to help keep the bit straight over the full working length. The self-feeding screw point speeds up boring in both soft and hard woods, and the hexagon shank resists slipping in the chuck or a bit extension.
The body is fully hardened from tip to shank for added durability during demanding, deep drilling work.
