The 25mm (1in) Marples M444 Blue Chip Bevel Edge Chisel is a versatile mid-range size that's ideal for general joinery work, furniture making, and medium-sized mortises. This width offers an excellent balance between precision and stock removal capability, making it one of the most frequently used chisels in any workshop for tasks such as paring joints, cleaning out housings, and trimming tenons. The high-impact round blue plastic handle is contoured for maximum control and radiused for a comfortable grip during extended use. Designed for use with a mallet, it will absorb the occasional hammer blow without damage. The solid one-piece forged bolster fitted bevel-edged blade is manufactured from best-in-category carbon steel, tempered along the full length and hardened up to the last 25mm for a longer working life. The annealed edge is slow to blunt yet easy to sharpen when required.
