About this product
This 13mm (1/2in) bevel edge chisel from the IRWIN Marples M444 Blue Chip range is suited to detailed joinery work, cutting smaller mortises and working in confined spaces, including fine furniture making, intricate joint work and tasks such as cleaning out dovetail sockets and trimming small tenons.
The high-impact blue plastic handle is round and contoured for control, with a radiused grip for comfort. It is designed for use with a mallet and will absorb occasional hammer blows without damage.
The blade has a solid one-piece forged bolster and is made from carbon steel, tempered along its full length and hardened up to the last 25mm for longer working life. The annealed edge is slow to blunt yet easy to sharpen.
