Bailey Drain Tracing Dye in purple is a water-soluble dye used to trace the direction of water flow through pipes and drains, particularly useful for professional drainage investigations involving multiple simultaneous tests. The distinctive purple colour helps differentiate it from other dye colours and from naturally occurring substances, making it suitable for complex surveys with multiple entry points or interconnected systems.

Supplied as a 200g (8oz) jar, it offers a dilution rate of around 12-14,000 litres in clean water. To use, dissolve the required amount into approximately five litres of water before adding to the flow or tank, which helps ensure even colour distribution.
