About this product

This Irwin masonry drill bit measures 5.5mm in diameter with a total length of 160mm, suited to deeper drilling into brickwork, concrete and breeze block, particularly with cordless drills. The extended length allows reach through thicker masonry where a standard bit would fall short. A single flute design clears dust efficiently even at depth, helping maintain drilling speed, while the pressed diamond-ground carbide tip gives an aggressive cutting action. Irwin states this tip design lasts 20% longer than previous versions and drills up to 60% faster than competitor bits. The body is made from chrome vanadium with a high carbon content, allowing greater hardening for a stronger bit with maximum rupture strength for demanding drilling tasks.
