This Irwin 15 Piece HSS Cobalt Drill Bit Set is designed for drilling stainless steel and other high alloys, making it suited to metalworking and fabrication tasks. The bits are manufactured from HSS steel containing 5% cobalt, which improves heat resistance and extends tool life when working with harder materials. Each bit features 135° split point grinding for accurate centring and reduced drilling pressure, along with an industrial quality ground flute for efficient chip removal and consistent accuracy. The golden tempered surface finish identifies the cobalt content and reflects the heat treatment applied. The set covers 15 sizes: 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7, 8, 9 and 10mm, providing a broad range for various drilling requirements.
