The Thor Classic Hide Hammer, size 4, has a 50mm diameter face and weighs around 1900g, giving a strong strike while protecting surfaces from damage. It suits heavy joinery, large furniture assembly and metalwork, as well as more delicate applications such as cabinet work, jewellery making and picture framing, where controlled force is needed.
The compressed water buffalo hide face absorbs recoil and dampens sound, delivering a firm strike without marking finished surfaces, useful in noise-sensitive workshops. The head is cast iron for durability, fitted to a hardwood handle with anti-vibration properties for comfort and control. This size 4 model uses a slip-on handle fitting, unlike other sizes which use a wedge fitting. Handle length is 355mm and the finish is brown.
