About this product
This is a Size 4 replacement hide face for Thor split head hammers, with a 50mm (2 in) face diameter. It is made from compressed, sustainable water buffalo hide, which absorbs recoil and dampens sound while giving a firm strike that won't mark finished surfaces.
The hide construction suits delicate work, furniture restoration and use in noise-sensitive environments. It allows the hammer to be maintained and extended in life by replacing worn faces rather than the whole tool, and weighs 97g.
