About this product

The Faithfull pH Meter is a soil testing tool for gardeners, both professional and hobbyist, offering a quick way to measure soil acidity and alkalinity. It has an analogue needle display showing the acid-alkaline range, giving an accurate reading in around 60 seconds and requiring no batteries. Knowing soil pH helps determine which plants will thrive in a given area, allowing adjustments to be made before planting. It is useful for testing conditions for outdoor plants, shrubs, vegetables, fruit and trees, and for identifying suitable growing spots in a garden. To raise pH, lime such as ground agricultural limestone, burnt lime or hydrated lime can be added. To lower pH and increase acidity, aluminium sulphate or sulphur can be used, with aluminium sulphate acting quickest once dissolved into the soil.
