About this product
This Faithfull set combines a No.4 smoothing plane with a No.60½ block plane, supplied together in a wooden storage box. Between them they cover general surface finishing and more detailed, single-handed work. The No.4 smoothing plane has a grey cast iron body with a precision ground base and sides for flatness and squareness. Machined seatings prevent blade movement and judder, while the lever cap with brass locking screw allows the blade to be secured or released quickly for sharpening. Wooden handles and knobs aid comfort, and a solid brass adjustment nut is fitted. Cutter width is 50mm, overall length 250mm. The No.60½ block plane has a low-angle cutter set at 13.5°, suited to end grain and plastic laminates, with a fully adjustable mouth for coarse or fine shavings. Cutter width is 35mm, overall length 160mm.
