About this product
This set combines a No.4 smoothing plane with a No.60 1/2 block plane, giving woodworkers tools for both general surface finishing and detailed end-grain work. Both come supplied in protective zip-up canvas carry bags for transport and storage. The No.4 has a grey cast iron body with a precision ground base and sides for flatness and squareness. Machined seatings prevent blade movement and judder, while a lever cap with brass locking screw allows quick blade removal for sharpening. Wooden handles and a brass adjustment nut aid comfort and precise depth control. The No.60 1/2 block plane has a low 13.5° cutting angle, suited to end grain and plastic laminates, and its compact single-handed design works well in confined spaces. Its adjustable mouth ranges from wide for coarse removal to narrow for fine shavings.
