About this product
Blackfriar Red Oxide Metal Primer is a water-resistant primer for ferrous metals such as steel and iron, protecting against rust and corrosion. It is suitable for both interior and exterior use and can be applied by brush, roller or spray.
This 1 litre tin covers approximately 14m² per coat, making it suitable for medium to large metalwork projects such as gates, railings or workshop equipment. It is touch dry within 2-4 hours, hard dry after 3 days, and can be recoated after 16 hours. The red oxide colour provides a suitable base for subsequent topcoats.
