About this product
Compact 160mm cable shears from Knipex, designed for electricians cutting copper and aluminium conductors. The StepCut design uses gradated cutting edges that slice through wires one after another, reducing cutting effort by up to 40% compared with standard cable shears of the same length, while avoiding crushing or deforming the cable. They cut multi-core stranded copper and aluminium cable up to 50mm² (Ø15mm) and solid conductors up to 5 x 4mm², but are not suitable for steel wire or hard drawn copper. Cutting edges are induction-hardened to approximately 56 HRC, set in forged, oil-hardened tool steel with a chrome-plated finish. The handles are VDE tested to 10,000V and rated safe for use up to 1,000V, conforming to DIN EN/IEC 60900, with an ergonomic design and a fitted pinch guard for hand protection.
