About this product
These VDE-tested cable shears from Knipex are designed for electricians cutting copper and aluminium cables, including multiple-stranded types, without crushing or deforming them. They cut cable up to 70 mm² or 20mm diameter, and are not suitable for steel wire or hard drawn copper conductors. The precision-ground, hardened blades give a twin cutting edge for an initial and final cut, allowing one-hand operation with reduced hand force thanks to the blade geometry and lever ratio. The tool has an adjustable bolted joint with a self-retaining screw, and a pinch guard to protect fingers during use. The insulation is VDE tested for safe work on live cables up to 1,000V, conforming to DIN EN/IEC 60900, and the body is made from forged, oil-hardened special tool steel with a chrome-plated finish and multi-component grips.
