About this product
The Makita 8406 is a heavy-duty diamond core drill combining percussion action for pilot holes with rotary-only mode for diamond core drilling. It is suited to cutting clean holes in tile, ferroconcrete, marble and brick, and accepts dry diamond cores up to 152mm, making it useful for plumbers, electricians and general contractors working with copper, waste or soil pipe.
The 850W motor gives a no-load speed of 0-1,500rpm and up to 22,500 blows per minute, with capacities of 13mm in steel, 30mm in wood and 20mm in masonry. A torque-limiting clutch disengages if the core bit jams, protecting both tool and user, and the design is double insulated with a repositionable side handle for left or right-hand use.
Weighing around 3.7kg, it is supplied with a drill chuck, chuck key, side handle and carry case.
