The Makita JS1601 is a 240V straight metal shear designed for workshop and site use where mains power is available. Powered by a 380W motor giving 4,500 strokes per minute, it cuts through mild steel up to 1.6mm thick and aluminium up to 2.5mm thick, using a tongue action blade for clean, accurate cuts.
At just 1.4kg, it is lightweight and features a slim barrel and ergonomically ribbed housing for comfortable, manoeuvrable handling during extended use. A double-action switch adds safety, and on-tool storage is provided for the hex wrench. It suits fabrication, maintenance and general sheet metal work, including roofing and ductwork.
