About this product
Everbuild Sika Fire Mate is a one-part, emulsion acrylic based intumescent acoustic sealant offering five-hour fire protection in suitably designed joints. Tested following the principles of BS 476 part 20 (1987), it swells to more than three times its original size when exposed to heat, forming a protective char that resists fire. It gives a firm yet flexible seal in joints up to 50mm wide and provides good acoustic sound deadening. Suitable uses include sealing joints, voids and irregular holes in fire walls and partitions, maintaining fire integrity around penetrating pipes and cables, and internal perimeter pointing of fire rated door and window frames. The sealant is fast curing, tack-free within 15 minutes, needs no priming on most substrates, and is fully overpaintable. This white finish suits light-coloured applications.
