About this product

This long handle bulb planter is designed for planting larger bulbs without digging or kneeling. It has a forged head with foot treads, made from heat-treated carbon steel for strength and durability, finished in polypropylene and powder coating for resistance to rust, scratches, humidity and soil alkaloids. The 960mm tubular steel handle has a T-grip and hard-wearing polypropylene coating, giving comfortable use and full control of the blade for a precise edge. Foot pressure on the treads provides leverage through tough or compacted soil. To use, bore a hole to the required depth with the 70-83mm diameter barrel, insert the bulb, then replace the soil plug. Suited to professional gardeners, it is typically used in September and October for spring bulbs such as daffodils, tulips and alliums, or in May for summer bulbs like gladioli.
