The DeWalt DCG405 is an 18v XR cordless brushless angle grinder taking a 125mm disc, supplied as a bare unit with no battery, charger or case — a cost-effective option for those already using the DeWalt 18v XR battery platform. The brushless motor is fan cooled with a mesh cover to protect against dust ingress, giving a no load speed of 9,000/min and cutting through 1/2" steel rebar up to 69 times on a 5.0Ah battery.
The grinder features a compact angled gear head and slim, rubber overmoulded body for use in confined spaces, plus a two-position side handle for control. Safety features include no-volt release, electronic clutch to reduce kickback, and an electronic brake that stops the wheel quickly on trigger release. A tool-free guard adjustment allows repositioning without interrupting work. The unit weighs 1.75kg and has an M14 spindle.
