About this product
This 38mm bevel edge chisel is the largest in Faithfull's soft grip range, suited to heavy-duty woodworking such as cutting wide mortises, substantial joint preparation and removing large amounts of waste timber. It suits both professional tradesmen and keen DIY enthusiasts.
The blade is drop-forged from chrome vanadium steel, hardened and tempered so the cutting edge stays sharp for longer. The bevelled edge design allows access into tight corners and fine work. It is ground to a 25° angle, increasing to 30° at the cutting edge, and can be maintained using a honing guide with an oil, diamond or whetstone.
The handle has an anti-slip soft grip coating for comfort, and features a steel striking cap to protect it when struck with a mallet or occasional hammer blow.
