About this product
The IRWIN Marples M444 Blue Chip is a 32mm (1¼in) bevel edge chisel suited to heavier joinery, door fitting and cleaning out larger housings. Its width offers good coverage on substantial timber sections while retaining control for tasks such as trimming larger tenons and general carpentry.
The blade is a solid one-piece forged bolster construction in carbon steel, tempered along its full length and hardened up to the last 25mm for extended working life. The edge is annealed so it stays sharp longer yet remains easy to resharpen.
The high-impact blue plastic handle is round and contoured for control, with a radiused profile for comfortable grip. It is designed for use with a mallet and will absorb occasional hammer blows without damage.
