About this product
This 3-piece set of IRWIN Marples M444 Bevel Edge chisels is aimed at carpenters and joiners needing a versatile range for detailed timber work, mortising, paring and general joinery. The set includes 12mm (1/2in), 18mm (3/4in) and 25mm (1in) sizes, with the bevel edge design suited to tight corners and dovetail work. Each chisel has a one-piece forged bolster and a bevel edged blade made from carbon steel, tempered along its full length and hardened in the final 25mm for a longer working life. The blade is annealed to give an edge that is slow to blunt yet easy to sharpen. The handles are high-impact round blue plastic, contoured for control and radiused for a comfortable grip. They are designed for use with a mallet and will absorb the occasional hammer blow.
