About this product
This is a 12mm (1/2in) bevel edge chisel from Stanley's FatMax range, suited to standard mortising, hinge fitting and general carpentry work. It has an overall length of 125mm, giving a size well suited to a wide range of everyday tasks for professional carpenters and serious woodworkers. The chisel uses thru tang construction with a friction welded bolster, said to be 50% stronger on side impact testing than Stanley's previous Dyna Grip Pro chisel. The handle is a shatterproof polymer with an ergonomic soft grip for control and comfort, and a steel striking cap that can be hit with a steel hammer for extra cutting force. The body is designed to resist most solvents. The blade is made from ball bearing grade steel (EN31) to the ISO standard, fully ground and finished for sharpness and edge retention. A full length blade guard is included for safe storage.
