About this product
The Stanley FatMax 20mm (13/16in) Bevel Edge Chisel with thru tang is suited to general carpentry, including larger mortising, door hanging and fitting locks and latches, where a broader blade helps with efficient material removal. It has an overall length of 135mm, giving good reach and leverage for these tasks. The blade is made from ball bearing grade EN31 steel, fully ground and finished for a sharp edge with good edge retention. The thru tang construction has a friction welded bolster for strength, and a steel striking cap that allows the chisel to be struck with a steel hammer for extra cutting force. The body resists most solvents. The handle is an ergonomic soft grip design, said to be 50% stronger than the previous Dyna Grip Pro chisel handle in side impact testing, and includes a full length blade guard for safe storage.
