About this product
This Faithfull curved gouge carving chisel is designed for detailed woodcarving work, reaching deeper recesses that straight gouges cannot access. It is particularly suited to hollowing out timber and concave carving, such as the interior of bowls. The chisel features a fully polished blade, a wooden handle with a deep-seated tang for a secure connection, and a metal ferrule to help prevent the handle splitting under mallet strikes. The handle is made from FSC 100% Certified Wood sourced from well-managed forests. Blade width is 12.7mm (1/2in) and overall length is 220mm. As with all woodcarving chisels, final sharpening is required before first use to achieve an optimal cutting edge.
