About this product
The Faithfull FSC Straight Gouge Carving Chisel is a 6.3mm (1/4in) traditional woodworking tool for detailed carving and shaping. Its concave blade profile removes wood cleanly without splintering, with the depth of the curve, or sweep, determining the depth of cut achievable, giving control over material removal in carving work.
The chisel has a deep seated tang for durability, a brass ferrule to protect the handle from splitting, and a fully polished blade for smooth cutting action. The handle is made from FSC 100% Certified wood from responsibly managed forests, suited to furniture makers, wood sculptors and craftspeople undertaking intricate carving.
Note that woodcarving chisels require final sharpening before first use to achieve optimal cutting performance.
