This Irwin HSS Cobalt drill bit has a 3.2mm diameter, suited to precision applications such as M3 clearance holes in stainless steel and other high alloys. The overall length is 65mm with a working length of 36mm.
The body is made from HSS steel containing 5% Cobalt, which improves red hardness (heat resistance) and extends the bit's service life when working demanding materials. It has a golden tempered surface finish reflecting its heat treatment.
A 135° split point grinding ensures accurate centring without the need for centre punching and reduces the pressure required for clean entry. The industrial quality ground flute design supports accurate drilling and fast chip removal, helping to prevent clogging.
