About this product
This Irwin 10.0mm HSS Cobalt drill bit is designed for drilling stainless steel and other high alloys, suited to heavy-duty fabrication, M10 clearance holes and general metalworking tasks. It has an overall length of 133mm and a working length of 87mm.
The body is made from HSS steel containing 5% Cobalt, which improves red hardness (heat resistance) and extends the bit's working life when drilling demanding materials. A 135° split point grinding gives accurate centring and reduced drilling pressure, often removing the need for centre punching.
The flutes are industrially ground for accurate drilling and efficient chip removal, helping to prevent binding. The bit has a golden tempered surface finish resulting from its heat treatment process.
