About this product

Irwin HSS Pro TiN Coated Drill Bits, supplied as a pack of 2, measuring 1.0mm diameter with an overall length of 34mm and a working length of 12mm. This fine diameter suits precision drilling tasks such as pilot holes, small fixings and detailed fabrication work where control and accuracy are important. The bits are manufactured from HSS steel with a 2.5 micron Titanium Nitride coating of around 80 HRC hardness, giving good wear resistance. TiN's low friction properties help reduce power consumption and heat build-up during drilling, while a 135° split point tip aids centring and reduces drilling pressure. Compared with traditional HSS bits, speed can be increased by 40-60% and feed by 10-20% without significantly reducing tool life.
