About this product
This Irwin 4.5mm HSS TCT drill bit is designed for precision drilling with stationary machines in hardened steel, cast iron, bronze alloys and manganese alloyed steel. The C2 tungsten carbide tip will drill hardened material up to 50 Rockwell C and features a four-facetted ground design for low drilling pressure and accurate centring. The body is made from Chrome Vanadium Steel, hardened to 56 Rockwell C, giving good rigidity and wear resistance. A coolant should always be used when drilling with TCT twist drill bits, with Irwin recommending a 3–6% emulsion to extend the bit's service life. Overall length is 80mm, with a working length of 47mm. Supplied as a single bit per pack.
