Irwin IRWIN® Blue Groove 4X Long Flat Bit 18 x 400mm 10502837

The Irwin Blue Groove 4X Long Flat Bit in 18mm x 400mm delivers robust drilling performance for larger diameter applications in timber construction. This size is particularly well-suited for creating holes for 22mm copper pipe with clearance, substantial cable runs, larger conduit installations, and structural fixings through deep timber members. With its 18mm cutting diameter and extended 400mm shank length, this bit excels at drilling through multiple joists, deep wall cavities, and roof timbers where standard bits cannot reach. The patented Blue Groove technology features a specially engineered groove point and cutting edge that cuts timber efficiently rather than scraping, achieving speeds up to 4 times faster than traditional flat bits. The parabolic scoop design ensures excellent chip removal, maintaining clean cutting action throughout the drilling process. Engineered with a reinforced shank that's 10% larger in diameter and an improved 17° relief angle, this bit combines enhanced durability with superior cutting efficiency, making it ideal for demanding professional applications where reliability is paramount.
