The Roughneck GORILLA V-Series Framing Hammer has a 454g (16oz) head and is designed for framing work and general carpentry. It is made from drop-forged, hardened and tempered steel for durability, with a curved claw head and smooth striking face. The V-Shock twin-beam girder shaft acts as a damper to reduce shock and vibration, complemented by an air-cushioned grip for comfort. Reduced weight in the shaft shifts the centre of gravity towards the head, improving balance and reducing effort. A 2-inch timber claw helps with manipulating constructional timber, while a magnetic nail holder allows one-handed nail starting in awkward spots. A mini-claw assists with removing embedded nails, and a lanyard hole in the handle base allows secure tethering when working at height.
