About this product
This is the size 5, 5000g version of the Thor Classic Copper & Hide Hammer, with a 70mm diameter head. It has a dual face: one of 99.99% pure electrolytic copper and one of compressed water buffalo hide, both mounted on a cast iron head with a hardwood handle designed to reduce vibration and recoil. The copper face gives harder strikes with maximum impact and is non-sparking, making it suitable where steel-on-steel contact would be a safety risk. The hide face absorbs recoil and dampens sound, giving a firmer strike that avoids marking finished surfaces, useful for delicate or restoration work. Suited to heavy industrial, automotive and general engineering applications including assembly, repair and maintenance, as well as toolmaking and metalworking. Both faces wear over time and replacements are available. Handle length is 915mm.
