About this product
This IRWIN Record 53ED is the largest woodworking vice in the range, with a 270mm jaw width and 380mm jaw opening, suited to heavy-duty and professional workshop use. A quick-release trigger mechanism allows the jaws to be opened and closed without turning the mainscrew, making it easy to swap between large and small work pieces, while releasing the trigger restores fine screw adjustment.
An adjustable front stop or dog works alongside a bench stop, effectively giving the function of a normal vice and a tail vice in one unit. Two steel guide rods reduce wear and keep the action smooth and parallel under load, and the jaws 'toe in' to apply even clamping pressure across the depth of the work piece. Location holes are provided for fitting wooden cheeks to protect delicate materials.
