This Starrett MPH0338 is a Tungsten Carbide Tipped (TCT) multi purpose hole saw with an 86mm diameter, designed for fast, heat-free cutting of non-metallic materials such as wood, MDF, plastics, plasterboard and ceramic wall tiles. Its aggressive tooth set is claimed to cut up to five times faster than a bi-metal hole saw, while the carbide-tipped teeth give durability and a smooth finish with minimal heat build-up.
It offers a cutting depth of 54mm (2 1/8in), sufficient for cutting through strapping and joists, and is suitable for use in both mains and battery powered tools. It is aimed at construction and installation engineers as well as DIY users, with a 5/8-18" thread size for compatible arbors.
