The Makita DJS161 is an 18V LXT cordless metal shear designed for professional straight and curved cutting work, supplied as a bare unit without battery, charger or case for those already using the Makita LXT battery system.
It cuts at 4,300 strokes per minute, with capacity of 1.6mm in mild steel, 2.5mm in aluminium and 1.2mm in stainless steel, and a minimum cutting radius of 250mm. The double blade design minimises material distortion and gives clean cuts with minimal burrs.
Weighing 1.8–2.2kg depending on battery fitted, it is compact and manoeuvrable, suited to overhead work. Features include a slide switch with lock-on function, an anti-restart function with warning lamp for safety, and a hex wrench for blade changes.
