About this product
ForgeFix Wafer Head TORX-compatible construction screws, size 8x340mm, supplied in a tub of 20. Suitable for fixing into softwood or hardwood, this length is intended for deep structural fixings such as heavy-duty timber connections and load-bearing assemblies. The deep T40 Torx-compatible insert reduces cam-out and gives higher torque with a firmer drive. A super sharp tip provides immediate bite, and the patented self-drilling thread removes the need to pre-drill while reducing the risk of splitting, even near timber edges. The wafer head sits flush with the timber surface. The screws have a hardened case and core for strength, with a Tan elementech 2000 finish giving corrosion resistance well beyond standard zinc coatings. They resist pull-out and can flex by up to 35°, reducing the chance of shearing in flexible materials, and are CE approved for load-bearing timber construction.
