About this product
The Makita DHR242 is an 18V cordless SDS Plus hammer drill with a brushless DC motor for improved efficiency and longer runtime between charges. It offers three modes of operation: rotary drilling, hammer drilling and chiselling, and uses a one-touch slide chuck for quick SDS Plus bit changes.
The tool body is split into upper and lower housings joined with vibration-absorbing cushion rubbers, which suppress vibration transmission to the battery terminals and reduce the risk of terminal failure. It can drill in concrete as fast as or faster than Makita's 24V BHR200 model.
Capacities are 13mm in steel, 27mm in wood and 24mm in concrete, with a no-load speed of 0-950rpm, 0-4,700 blows per minute and 2.0 joules impact energy. Net weight is 3.3kg. Supplied with a side handle and depth stop, but without battery, charger or case.
