About this product

This HSS step drill bit cuts a range of hole sizes in one tool, without needing to change bits. It covers sizes from 4mm to 14mm in 2mm increments, suited to sheet metal and plastic up to 4mm thick, but not for hardened steel or thicker material. Made from High Speed Steel for durability, it has a 6mm diameter shank that fits standard power drill chucks. It's useful for electrical work, light metal fabrication and general workshop tasks such as fitting cable glands, avoiding the need for multiple bits. As the cutting edges are sharp and get hot in use, the workpiece should be securely clamped rather than held by hand, eye protection worn, and the bit allowed to cool after use.
