The Thor Classic Hide Hammer, Size 1, weighs 590g (1 1/2lb) with a 32mm (1 1/4 in) diameter face. This mid-weight hammer suits furniture making, cabinet and joinery work, jewellery making, picture framing and thin sheet metal shaping, where controlled force is needed to protect finished surfaces from damage.
The face is made from compressed sustainable water buffalo hide, which absorbs recoil and dampens sound, giving a firm but gentle strike that won't mark delicate materials. This makes it suited to restoration work and noise-sensitive environments.
The head is cast iron for durability, fitted to an anti-vibration hardwood handle (280mm) that minimises recoil for comfort and control.
