The Starrett A1E Arbor is designed for use with Starrett hole saws ranging from 14mm to 30mm in diameter, including Fast Cutting Holesaws (FCW). It features an 8.75mm hex shank (11/32in), suitable for fitting a 3/8in capacity chuck, giving a secure grip and positive drive. The arbor comes complete with a pilot drill, fitted with a set screw in the arbor body to allow easy replacement. Sources indicate a pilot drill size of around 6.5mm (1/4in), with one noting a longer pilot drill for use with Fast Cutting Holesaws.
