About this product
The Dormer E500 is a metric coarse taper tap made from high-speed steel, sized M12 with a 1.75mm pitch. Its straight flute design allows effective chip removal, giving smooth, accurate threading in steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals, either by hand or in a machine.
As a taper (first) tap, it forms part of a traditional three-tap set alongside second and bottoming taps, useful for tapping blind holes. It has a right-hand thread, 6H tolerance, a bright surface finish, and conforms to ISO 529, with an overall length of 89mm.
