About this product
The Dormer E500 is a straight flute HSS tap for cutting metric coarse threads, size M20 x 2.5, second (intermediate) type. It is suited to general-purpose threading in steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals, giving a 6H tolerance fit to ISO 529.
Straight flute taps can be used by hand or in a machine and are versatile for tapping through or blind holes. For blind holes, they should be used as part of a set comprising taper (first), second and bottoming (plug) taps, allowing progressive thread cutting to full depth. Overall length is 112mm.
