About this product
The IRWIN Marples M373 is a 50mm bevel edge wood chisel, the widest in the range, suited to heavy-duty carpentry and large timber work such as cleaning out wide mortises where efficient stock removal is needed. It is made from best-in-category steel for good sharpness and edge retention, with the blade, bolster and tang forged from a single piece of steel for strength.
The edges are bevelled to allow easier working in tight corners despite the chisel's width. It has a two-tone splitproof plastic handle designed to withstand heavy striking and continuous use without splitting, with a contoured shape for added control and reduced fatigue during extended work.
