Bondloc B243 is a medium-strength anaerobic threadlocker supplied in a compact 10ml bottle, suited to occasional maintenance tasks, small repairs and field service work. It is oil tolerant, allowing direct application onto as-received parts where a light oily film exists, removing the need for pre-cleaning where surrounding parts contamination could otherwise be an issue.
Being medium strength, it secures threaded fasteners while still allowing disassembly with standard hand tools. The formulation is a blue, thixotropic modified methacrylate resin with a specific gravity of 1.04, curing at 85°C and reaching full cure in 24 hours. Typical breakaway strength is 12 N/mm, with prevailing strength of 8-10 N/mm, and it operates across a temperature range of -53°C to +150°C. Shelf life is 12 months when stored at 20°C.
