About this product
The Makita BO5031 is a 125mm random orbital disc sander aimed at trade professionals, succeeding the earlier BO5010 and BO5012 models with a more powerful 300W motor. It suits a wide range of sanding tasks, from paint removal to fine finishing on wood, steel and other surfaces, and its compact head makes it useful in tight spaces.
Variable electronic speed control (4,000–12,000 orbits per minute) with constant speed under load helps maintain a consistent finish. It uses a hook and loop system for quick sandpaper changes and has an ergonomic, non-slip soft-grip housing for comfortable extended use.
Dust is managed via holes in the base plate feeding a rear-mounted cloth dust bag, or an external dust port for vacuum connection. The tool is double insulated and weighs 1.3kg, with a 123mm pad size and 2.8mm orbit diameter. This is the 110V version.
