The Makita BO5031 is a 125mm random orbital disc sander aimed at trade professionals, suitable for tasks ranging from paint removal to fine finishing. It has a 300W motor with variable electronic speed control, running from 4,000 to 12,000 orbits per minute, and maintains a constant speed under load for a consistent finish.
The sander uses a hook and loop system for quick sandpaper changes and has an ergonomically shaped, soft-grip housing for comfortable handling. Dust is managed through holes in the base plate that transfer debris to a rear-mounted dust bag, or a dust port can be connected to a vacuum cleaner; a dust bag is supplied. The tool is double insulated for added safety.
It weighs 1.3kg, has a pad size of 123mm and an orbit diameter of 2.8mm. Noise sound pressure is rated at 80 dB(A), with vibration levels of 4 m/sec² when sanding. This is the 240V version of the tool.
